“Point your toes, chin up” I cant even begin to explain the number of times I’ve heard these words; only a real gymnast could understand. For my debut post, I thought that it would be nothing shy of perfect to take you back to the gym. The place where it all began, I spent almost 8 years at the Australian Institute of Sport, therefore Gymnastics WAS my adolescence. I may have been the only girl at the chalk bucket that was more concerned with why the cutest water polo player wasn’t crushing on me, instead of why I couldn’t land my double pike dismount, but hey!? I’m only human. Even though my love for lycra and velvet leotards has certainly gone, there was still a part of me that found somersaulting around in an empty gymnasium, wearing some of Australia’s coolest designers somewhat thrilling.
