I have a friend called George. He is overwhelmingly handsome, very humorous, sings, plays the guitar, has a sister that I have a total girl-crush on, Oh! and he also takes very cool photos. Did someone say dreamboat? Yes, that was me! Very shortly George will have his work on display at Chasm Gallery in Sydney, with a show to follow at their sister gallery in New York. These are a few of my favorite George Byrne snaps for you to enjoy – and for the girls, George himself.

“LA is actually a really fascinating place to be. It’s just so many things at once. A riddle. A manifestation of the big stars that come out of here that are infamous and yet a complete mystery to people. It’s misunderstood and much maligned and yet no one can leave it alone. It’s like three quarters of the people who live here have no idea what they are doing here or how they got here or how long they will stay. It’s just this sprawling encampment for gifted dreamers, delusional narcissists, disenfranchised wanderers, burned out New Yorkers, hard working immigrants, refugees, sunburnt schizophrenics, frost-bitten Americans from the cold states looking to thaw out. Filthy rich, dirt poor – all mixed together. A pretty weird set-up.” -George Byrne, 2014
