Activewear and gym gear has been slowly creeping in to high fashion for sometime, and even though I’m totally in touch with my sporty side, I’ve only dared dip in to the trend with certain colour palettes – well, that’s until two of my mates put their amazingly stylish heads together to create a label of performance wear that’s cool, and chic enough to be rocked inside and outside the gymnasium.
Pip Edwards has owned the tomboy-meets-runway trend since I’ve known her, and she’s joined fashion forces with my sexy friend (Oh, and design extraordinaire) Ms Claire Tregoning to share their label P.E Nation and its vision of uber sporty style for the busy modern woman.
Phys-Ed has never been so rad! Slouchy logo sweaters, bold printed leggings teamed with nineties crop tops, oversized shorts straight from the boxing ring, and track jumpers that somehow sit on the right side of stylish. The awesome thing about P.E is you can throw the whole gym bag at your look and dress head to toe like I did, or work a few key pieces in with your other wardrobe items to give things an activewear edge.
Yes I wasn’t always a fashion follower, in my teens I was known to see more of my gym coach than my parents and the locker room was my hangout – not shopping precincts and hip bars as you’d expect, so for me P.E Nation feels like home.
